Vitamin D for pregnant women?

It is said vitamin D is one of the really good Womens vitamins, we will take a look at some studies. Vitamin D is said to make stronger babies as well as a protection against cancer. We will take a look at the first statement as this page is about womens vitamins. In a case study of almost 200 women it was indicated that lack of vitamin D for pregnant women caused weaker bones because of lack of calcium absorption. The study indicates that vitamin D is an important part of womens vitamins.


We dont recomend to take the supplements but instead get the important womens vitamins from natural sources. Here is the most important vitamin D sources:

  • Cod liver oil
  • Salmon
  • Mackerel
  • Tuna fish
  • Sardines
  • Milk, nonfat or reduced fat
  • Egg
  • Cheese, Swiss

When you are exposed to the sun, your skin also produces vitamin D, but bevare; dont stay in direct sun in the middle of the day, and take care not to get burned!
